Welch's Hudl profile is private, so there's not a lot we can say about him as a football player, but he's a track star in central Wisconsin, placing third in Division 3 in the long jump, 100m dash and 4x400m relay at the 2015 Wisconsin state track meet.
COMPARISON: Without video, it's hard to do this here. But let's try anyway. How about Mike Humpal? Welch also runs track in Wisconsin, like Humpal did, and had a decent 11.17 100m time last year. Welch also competes in the 200m and long jump. Mike Humpal competed in track in high school and was the runner-up in the 110m hurdle in 3A. Both are similar in size, 6'3"-6'4". Welch will catch Humpal's 240 pound playing weight.
