Updated Odds to Win the 2014 NCAA Basketball Championship

The oddsmakers continue to be in Iowa's favor, sort of.

Mary Langenfeld-USA TODAY Sports

Despite coming up short in three of their biggest games so far this year, the Iowa basketball team actually finds themselves with better odds of winning a championship now than they did almost eight months ago, when the first odds were released. Back in May, Iowa had 50/1 odds of bringing home a title; now those odds have dipped to 40/1. It certainly doesn't hurt that while Iowa has failed to beat Villanova, Iowa State, or Wisconsin (all ranked in the current top 10), they've managed to look very good in those losses. Now if they can just figure out how to finish a few of those games with more success...

Strong starts have prompted shorter odds for Michigan State, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Iowa, while early season struggles (and/or injuries) have created longer odds for Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Purdue. Meanwhile, Northwestern's odds went from LOL to ROFLCOPTERS OVER EVANSTON. Presumably odds for Nebrasketball winning a championship are not listed because if you're seriously thinking of betting real money on Nebrasketball, you're better off burning the money to ashes and injecting them as part of your home brew Krokodil. Also, you should probably call 1-800-BETS OFF because, seriously, you have a gambling problem.

Any other odds stand out to you?
