Iowa played -- and won -- their first game open to the public earlier this afternoon. Unless you were in CHA, the only way to see it was to watch the online stream on video.btn.com. I did watch it, although not with my full attention. They seemed to play OK in general; if anyone who watched it more closely (or was in attendance) wants to chime in, please do so. The first proper game is Friday against Chicago State; we'll try to have better game thread coverage for that.

"No. 13 Michigan (7-1) at Iowa (5-3) UPSET SPECIAL: Coming off a humiliating loss to Minnesota, it's clear the Hawkeyes are a far cry from their 11-2 Orange Bowl team of two years ago. The Wolverines -- who went 5-7 that year -- are notably improved, particularly on defense. But here's guessing the Hawkeyes have one last mini-upset in them. This would be very Ferentz-esque on the heels of the Minnesota loss."

As might have been expected after losing to one of the worst teams in FBS football, our spectacular weekend ongoing rageathon enabled Iowa to take top honors in This Week In Schadenfreude at the SBN mothership.
Bama Hawkeye, a writer at OTE and Friend of the Pants, hits the nail squarely on the head.
Here's a nice story about the family that donates use of the truck and their services to haul all the football gear. Diehard fans, indeed.
