It's especially fun to see these plays from field level and without any annoying announcers.

Player of the Year: In a complete crapshoot, The Dash throws a dart and hits Iowa safety Tyler Sash (16), who produced 28 percent of the Hawkeyes' 29 takeaways on the season with six interceptions and two forced fumbles. He also made 84 total tackles and broke up another six passes. Coach of the Year: Kirk Ferentz (17), Iowa. Did a lot with a little in a return-to-prominence season.

Did you notice Carver-Hawkeye Arena? Sure, it's not as though CHA is ever really a madhouse, but it was as if this was an exhibition or some sort of early-season scrimmage. There were open seats everywhere! The student section barely exists! I know Iowa is not a great basketball program on a yearly basis, but come on, people. Even the lowly Hawks deserve better than this. (Wait, what am I saying? No they don't. Stay home and save your money if you want. Totally your call.)

The Dagger. This is what it's come to, people.

Weis is out after 5 seasons.

#1 reason why I'm looking forward to next season

10

Not the number of starters and injured players we return. Not our favorable schedules. NO, the #1 thing to look forward to next year is no more Tim Tebow and hence, no more columns like this one that have no purpose other than to deify the Chosen One (who I am sure is a wonderful person). There is no "story" here, no analysis, nothing but suckling at the Tebow-teat and churning out yet more haiography of #15. Though, I have no doubt in the ability of the world-wide-leader to latch on to yet another QB and declare him the "greatest college football player EVER" after half-a-season of games.

So [Chad] Greenway is on a 10-1 team. But he can act like he’s been there before. "I was on teams at Iowa that were 11-2, 10-2," he said. "They’re not used to that up here with the Gophers." (It's good to see that Greenway's still able to get his digs in while in Minnesota.)

Iowa to #9 in AP, Coaches still retarded

2

Iowa is at #9 in AP poll (and 1 ahead of PSU), #10 in Coaches poll, who still inexplicably rank them behind a Penn State team with identical record, home loss to team they're ahead of.

Breaking news: Iowa wrestlers continue to dominate lesser opposition

4

In the not at all shocking news department, Iowa laid the smackdown on Bucknell, 29-7, and Rutgers, 33-9, yesterday in a pair of road dual meets. The takeaway: Matt McDonough and Dan Dennis apparently looked great, Jay Borschel looks like he's back in his 07-08 form, and 157 and 165 continue to look like areas of some concern. Most shocking result: Brent Metcalf dec. Kevin LeValley (Bucknell), 3-2. Um... whaaaa? Metcalf the Destroyer responded by tech falling his second opponent, Kellen Bradley of Rutgers.

CJ Fiedorowicz verbally commits

The nation's #1 TE recruit, according to Tom lemming (rivals #5), has de-committed from the Fightin Zooks and will become a Hawkeye. Most saw this coming when Illinois's season went into the toilet, but it's great to see Iowa getting guys like Fiedorowicz.
