How did the Hawkeyes convince a player coveted by a local program, badgered by his quarterback, and chased by the best recruiter in his area, all without even getting him to Iowa City yet? It was the work of new running backs coach Chris White.
Omar comin', yo. You get it? Like The Wire. Because he's from a place that should probably be in Maryland, and The Wire is in Baltimore and stuff.
But seriously, he looks like a ready-made defensive back for a team that could probably use them, but Iowa's track record in the D.C. area is starting to look somewhat spotty. Nico Law is still stuck on the bench, Jordan Lomax got beaten for a starting spot by a true freshman, and now Iowa's bringing in three more defensive backs from the Mid-Atlantic. Here's to hoping that Truitt (and Taylor, and Joly) are the new rule.
