So, uh, every returning starter who thinks your job is safe for 2014, raise your hands. Whoa whoa whoa, not so fast, Connor Kornbrath.
Dillon is already in school and will participate this spring in Iowa's spring practice/game. He had planned to attend Florida International this semester but Iowa's Chris White contacted him and he became a Hawkeye. Kidd comes to Iowa from the junior college ranks. He started his kicking career out at Florida State but opted for El Camino Community College after one year of backup punting duties.
He's an interesting addition to the team. Iowa will have two punters on scholarship heading into next season. Dillon averaged 38.2 yards (50 punts) in JUCO last year. He did place 18 of those punts inside the opponents 20 yard line. For Kirk Ferentz, punting is winning. Two scholarship punters on the roster to do two different things isn't out of the realm of possibility.
