Where will Iowa's postseason destination be?

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

While Iowa ended the regular season like a broken down jalopy -- one tire flat, muffler dragging on the ground, smoke pouring out of the engine block, and you don't even want to know what that mystery liquid is -- the good news is that their season's not over yet -- which means there's still a chance to erase some of the frustration and misery from the last few weeks.  The even better news is that, barring something pretty unexpected, Iowa's postseason destination this year isn't going to be the NIT.

No, assuming literally every bracketologist is on the money, Iowa's headed back to the NCAA Tournament this year -- for the first time in eight years.  Let's be clear: THIS IS A GOOD THING.  Full stop.  End of story.  It doesn't matter how bad Iowa has wheezed to the finish line over the last few weeks.  Getting to the NCAA Tournament was the goal -- is the goal -- and it seems like Iowa has done just that.  Now let's see where they're going -- and who they're playing.

The NCAA Tournament Selection Show airs at 5 PM Central on CBS.
