The Iowa Hawkeyes, riding a seven-game win streak, are set to return to action at the conclusion of finals week. While not a road game, the Hawkeyes have hit the road and headed just a bit west to Des Moines where Wells Fargo Arena will play host to both Iowa and Cleveland State.

The Vikings, like Iowa, come into the day how as they boast an impressive nine consecutive victories. However, Cleveland State, a tournament team a season ago, was dealt some devastating news earlier this week as we learned that standout Destiny Leo will be out for the remainder of the season with a leg injury.

Leo had been averaging more than 20 points per game to lead the Vikings in scoring. Now CSU will have to lean on their depth with players such as Mickayla Perdue, who put up 25 points in a 71-62 win against Akron. Colbi Maples and Carmen Villalobos bring their own set of skills, adding 3.3 assists and 6.7 rebounds, respectively.

The Hawkeyes, of course, are battle tested at this point and bring with them plenty of firepower. Iowa’s Caitlin Clark is averaging an 29.5 points, 6.9 rebounds and 7.4 assists per game, while the Hawkeyes have gotten strong contributions from the likes of a now healthy Hannah Stuelke and Kate Martin. They’ll need those contributions as Cleveland State enters the day allowing only 60.2 points. The Hawkeyes are undefeated on the season when topping 60 points.

As we prepare for tipoff, here’s a quick look at the details for tonight’s matchup.
