Iowa vs. Michigan: Betting Line Movement + Updated Indianapolis Weather

Are things looking any better for the Hawkeyes in Indianapolis?

Weather Update

Well, nothing to report here, as this game is indoors in Lucas Oil Stadium. So the weather will be great!

If you’re going to be in Indy, however, bring rain gear. It looks positively terrible with a 99 percent chance of rain on Friday. It looks like a good chance from 2:00 a.m. Friday morning through late into the evening Friday night. Saturday, on the other hand, looks ok, so tailgating weather looks decent. Keep that rain gear handy but of course you’ll shed that once you’re in Lucas Oil.

Line Movement

I wish this line were a bit closer, but yeah - Iowa’s a huge underdog. We knew that already. The line ticked down to Michigan -22.5, but it’s still a big line. The over/under has slowly crept down at DraftKings, and has now settled in at 34.5. It’s Iowa plus Michigan likes to take the air out of the ball so, under. Duh.

Some of the prop bets for this game may be where you want to have some fun (be responsible, of course). Iowa’s total team touchdowns at over/under is 0.5 (-110 for the over, -130 for the under). Keep in mind Iowa’s only scored a single touchdown in the title game. That gives me the excuse to include this.

Iowa’s total points scored for both halves is an over/under of 2.5. Yeah - Vegas isn’t expecting Iowa to score much. I said in my Pants Predicts section that Iowa has to get this in the mud and hope Michigan stays there, plus there are distractions with Jim Harbaugh, but even a gross, muddy rock fight probably doesn’t get Iowa the points required to be competitive, let alone win unless they get defensive or special teams scores. Vegas concurs. But hey, we’re playing with house money the rest of the way so have fun and enjoy Indy (and also head for cover at the nearest watering hole if this starts to look like a landslide).

Line: Iowa +22.5 (-112/-108)
