The Iowa Hawkeyes are set to wrap up their non-conference season as they play host to the Colorado State Rams of the Mountain West Conference. The Rams and Hawkeyes have never faced off before but CSU head coach Steve Addazio is sure to remember Iowa from his days at Boston College and the 2017 Pinstripe Bowl.
While Addazio looks to avenge that loss, the Hawkeyes look to push ahead to 4-0 before they enter the meat grinder that will be the heart of the Big Ten schedule. Iowa comes in riding a nine-game winning streak that dates back to week three a season ago. The Hawkeyes have scored 25 more points in each of those wins, marking the longest streak of 25+ scoring games in program history.
The defense, meanwhile, is looking to extend a few streaks of their own. The Hawkeyes have allowed fewer than 25 points in 25 consecutive contests - the longest such streak in the nation. The Iowa defense has also one away with a score in each of Iowa’s first three games of 2021 and have amassed 23 total points, including three touchdowns. Iowa opponents, by contrast, have managed just three touchdowns of their own and only 30 total points.
