Your Iowa Hawkeyes doubled their NBA presence in this year’s NBA Draft after Luka Garza was selected 52nd overall by the Detroit Pistons.

The Pistons also owned the No. 1 overall pick in this draft, taking Oklahoma State’s Cade Cunningham in that slot.
So, the Pistons took the best player in the draft. And some guy named Cade.
As noted, Garza joins former teammate Tyler Cook, who signed a one-year deal with the Pistons at the tail end of this past season. Garza, who was a freshman when Cook was a junior, starts the next step of his journey with a familiar face.
AAHHHHHHHHHHH LETS GOOOOOO!!!!!! @LukaG_55

Garza saw teammate Joe Wieskamp get called a little bit earlier than he did, but that’s fine for the two-time All-American. He’s now got the opportunity to catapult his career on the biggest stage. I feel good about him outplaying Mason Plumlee sooner than later.
