We’re already to mid-March, but the Madness is just about to begin. Conference tournaments are in the rearview mirror and Selection Sunday has now come and gone. The bracket is set and now the real fun begins.
Your Iowa Hawkeyes heard their name called on Selection Sunday for the fifth time under head coach Fran McCaffery (although we can all agree it would have been a sixth had last year’s tournament not been cancelled). They’ve earned a 2 seed, the highest since Tom Davis’ first season in Iowa City back in 1987. Now it’s time to see what the Hawkeyes can do with the high seed. Will it be an early exit like in 2006? Or can they make it back to the Elite Eight as they did in that ‘87 season?
Throughout the 2021 NCAA Tournament, the Pants will be publishing on every angle for both the Hawkeyes and the rest of the bracket. Speaking of which, you can view the full bracket below.
