The Iowa Hawkeyes escaped Friday night’s matchup with the Wisconsin Badgers thanks in large part to some stellar defense in the second half. Iowa struggled shooting the ball, going just 2/20 from beyond the arc on the night, but was able to overcome their issues by holding the Badgers under 60 total points.
Now it’s on to a rematch with the Illinois Fighting Illini with a trip to the Big Ten Championship Game on the line. The last time these two met, just two points separated the two teams despite the home court advantage for the Illini and no CJ Fredrick for the Hawkeyes. Now Fredrick is healthy, but Illinois is rolling.
Can Iowa exact some revenge and make their first Big Ten Tournament Championship Game since 2006? Or will the Illini continue their hot streak and bounce the Hawkeyes?
