The Iowa Hawkeyes wrapped up an historic season a little under a week ago as they defeated the Wisconsin Badgers 77-73 to close out the regular season 20-7. With the win, Iowa finished the year right where they started: #5 in the nation.
Now, the Hawkeyes kick off their quest for a postseason run right where the regular season ended: with a matchup against Wisconsin. The Badgers held off a late run from Penn State to advance to the quarterfinals after Brad Davison secured a rebound and called timeout with less than a second to go after the Nittany Lions pulled to within 1 in the waning seconds.
Now, the Badgers and Hawkeyes face off in round 3 of the series as Iowa seeks its first Saturday game in the Big Ten Tournament since winning the championship in 2006. Can the Hawkeyes get their third win against Wisconsin this season and build on their late season success? Or will the Badgers get revenge for their two regular season losses to Iowa? We’ll soon find out.
