Iowa Wrestling: Final Dual Against Wisconsin Is Canceled

There we have it Hawkeye fans, our regular season is officially done with the cancellation of the upcoming dual against Wisconsin on Feb. 21. Interesting timing too, considering Hawkeyesports released a start time within the past 48 hours or so.

It’s hard to fault Wisconsin for pulling the plug, but it’s frustrating that both teams were forced into this position. Thanks to the incompetence of the Big Ten and their failure with the delayed start, they left their us with zero wiggle room for any makeups, which is evident by wrestling five of the nine scheduled duals.

With Penn State throttling Ohio State tonight, 25-12, that now sends us into a tie for first place in the standings at 5-0. Unfortunately, PSU has one dual left with the Maryland Turtles, coincidentally, on Sunday.

The Big Ten Conference Championships are March 6 and 7, so that still gives us two more weeks to get healthy and dialed in before our quest for #24 officially begins.
