After an extra week off to stew on their first loss of the season, the Iowa Hawkeyes are back in action today as they prepare to take on the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison. Iowa comes into today at 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the Big Ten. They’re atop the Big Ten West standings and looking to stay there as they take on the Badgers. Wisconsin comes in at 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference. A win from Wisconsin would put them in control of their own destiny in the West while a win by Iowa would widen the gap between them and the Badgers and leave only Minnesota within striking distance in the West.
But it won’t be easy for either side. Both Iowa and Wisconsin boast some of the best defense in the country, while the offensive side of the ball leaves a bit to be desired. Both programs are built on controlling the clock and establishing the run. This is set up to be an old school rock fight with big time implications.
