High School football in Iowa has completed the first round of the playoffs. We will examine stats, future opponents, and highlight videos.
Jacob Bostick, WR
Hometown: Palatine, IL (Palatine)
Height: 6’3”

Bostick remains on the sideline due to injury, but the Pirates picked up a big 43-13 victory over Hoffman Estates (7-2) to earn a share of the conference title.
This week Palatine (6-3) will face Taft (7-2) in the first round of playoffs in Illinois.
On the season Bostick has 11 receptions, 159 yards, and 2 scores in three games.
Caden Crawford, DL
Hometown: Lansing, KS (Lansing)
Height: 6’5”

Crawford was out of the lineup with an injury as Lansing fell to Platte County (7-2) 39-3.
Next week Lansing (2-6) opens the first round of playoffs at Paola (5-3)

Jack Dotzler’s Waunakee Warriors remain undefeated with a 54-14 victory over Marshfield (3-6) in the first round of playoffs.
On Saturday Waunakee (10-0) plays River Falls (7-3) in the second round of the playoffs.
Aaron Graves, DL
Hometown: Gowrie, IA (Southeast Valley)
Height: 6’5”

The Jaguars handled Sheldon 46-7 to open their postseason. Graves recorded 8 tackles and 2 TFL. On the offensive line he helped Southeast Valley rack up 410 yards of offense. He also had 1 punt for 43 yards
Southeast Valley (8-1) will play Iowa Falls-Alden (6-3) to continue their post season.
For the year Graves has 44.5 tackles. with 3 sacks and 7.5 TFL.
Kaleb Johnson, RB
Hometown: Hamilton, OH (Hamilton)

Johnson was productive in a 21-28 defeat to Mason (4-6). He ended the game with 18 carries for 97 yards and 2 scores.
Hamilton (2-6) will begin postseason against St. Xavier (8-2).
For the season Johnson has carried the ball 127 times 1002 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Kale Krogh, OL
Hometown: Huxley, IA (Ballard)
Height: 6’6”

The Bombers blanked Gilbert (0-9) 49-0. Krogh was dominate up front as Ballard piled up 375 yards rushing.
Ballard (5-4) will take on Harlan (9-0) in the playoffs this week.
Carson May, QB
Hometown: Jones, OK (Jones)
Height: 6’5”
Weight: 220

May and his Longhorn teammates defeated Millwood (3-5) 34-12. Through the air he went 8/19 for 107 yards and 1 touchdown. He also threw and interception as the pass game struggled. May was effective running the ball scoring 2 touchdowns with 97 yards on 22 carries.
Jones (5-3) will host Prague (7-1) this week.
This season May has totaled 1908 yards with 21 touchdowns and 4 interceptions on 62% passing. He moves really well for his size and has 308 yards and 6 touchdowns rushing.
Jayden Montgomery, LB
Hometown: Green Bay, WI (Bay Port)
Height: 5’11”

Montgomery has been out with a knee injury, but Bay Port has continued to roll as they won 56-14 over Manitowoc Lincoln (4-6)
Next week Bay Port (9-1) will face off against Marquette University (5-6).
Addison Ostrenga, TE
Hometown: Sun Prairie, WI (Sun Prairie)
Height: 6’5”

Even without Ostrenga in the lineup, Sun Prairie had another big win as they blanked Madison La Follette (3-7) 63-0.
Next up for the Cardinals (11-0) will be Fond du Lac (6-4).
On the season Ostrenga has hauled in 22 receptions for 352 yards and 5 touchdowns. He is equally effective on defense recording 25 tackles, 3 sacks, and 6 TFL.
Jaziun Patterson, RB
Hometown: Deefield Beach, FL (Deerfield Beach)

Patterson was another recruit who did not play this week, but that was because Deerfield Beach rested him during their 50-0 win over West Boca Raton (1-6)

Cael Vanderbush, TE
Hometown: Plainfield, IN (Plainfield)
Height: 6’6”
Weight: 200

Vanderbush and his teammates had the week off as they prepare for postseason action.
Plainfield (4-5) will play Cathedral (9-1) to open their state playoffs.
This year Vanderbush has been a consistent weapon offensively with 33 receptions, 695 yards, and 7 touchdowns.

Cam Buffington, LB (2024)
Hometown: Winfield, IA (Winfield-Mt Union)

Winfield-Mt Union (4-4) did not make the post season this season and played their final game on October 15th in their 8-man league.
On the season Buffington led the Wolves in nearly every category. He finished 66/122 passing for 1157 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. He carried the ball 138 times for 1028 yards and 18 touchdowns.
Defensively the future linebacker compiled 55 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and 6 TFL.
Cody Fox, OL (2024)
Hometown: Winthrop, IA (East Buchanan)
Height: 6’4”

Fox helped pave the way to 391 yards rushing as the Buccaneers defeated Newman Catholic (6-3) 44-29 in their post season starter. On defense, Fox had 4.5 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and 3.5 TFL.
East Buchanan (8-1) will take on Lisbon (8-1) this week.
On the season Fox has totaled 52 tackles, 6.5 sacks, and an impressive 17 TFL.
Ben Kueter, LB (2023)
Hometown: Iowa City, IA (Iowa City High)
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 220
Kueter is an all-around standout and shined again this week. City High cruised to a 63-7 victory over Davenport Central (3-6). Kueter had 3 receptions for 42 yards and 2 scores. He also carried the ball once for 3 yards. On defense, he made 5.5 stops with 2.5 sacks.
Iowa City High (8-1) will take on Urbandale (7-2) this week.
On the season Kueter has hauled in 16 receptions for 282 yards and 6 touchdowns. He has also carried the ball twice for 19 yards and a score. Defensively he has racked up 73 tackles, 7 sacks, and a mind-blowing 31.5 TFL! He also has recovered two fumbles, returning one for a touchdown.
