We’re now through the first three rounds of the NFL Draft and there’s been a Hawkeye selected in each one. Things kicked off Thursday night with the first round. It took a bit longer than expected, but Tristan Wirfs was taken 13th overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’ll be lining up next to Rob Gronkowski and blocking for Tom Brady on what has quickly become a contender.
Last night, the action continued and it was a similar story for A.J. Epenesa. The star defensive end was left waiting for some time before the Buffalo Bills jumped on him at number 54 overall - their first pick of the 2020 draft. A round later, the Denver Broncos picked up Michael Ojemudia with the 77th pick overall.
Things pick back up today with rounds 4-7. This is prime Geno Stone and Nate Stanley time. We could also see Kristian Welch, Toren Young or a slew of others have their names called late in the day. You can see where we project them here.
The action gets going at 11am CT. Here’s how to follow along.
