Iowa basketball’s CJ Fredrick is set to return to the starting lineup tomorrow morning in the third to last game of the year.

It’s a critical return in a home bout against Penn State for Fredrick, who was initially injured earlier in the year in Iowa’s first contest against the Nittany Lions back in early January. Fredrick’s missed the past three games after an ankle-type injury against Indiana, and Iowa has missed his shot dearly as Joe Wieskamp’s own shot has gone on Amber Alert in that timeframe.
Iowa is 3-2 without Fredrick in the lineup this year (3-4 if you count the games where he’s been injured) and simply doesn’t have the bodies to cover up for any other absence. There were six scholarship players available for Iowa while Cordell Pemsl was in the locker room against Michigan State earlier this week.
CJF is averaging 10 points a game and shooting 46% from three so far this year. Those 10 points would’ve come in handy on Tuesday night.
Iowa takes on Penn State at 11am on BTN Saturday. Official spreads for the game have not been released yet.
