Hawkeye Basketball Quick Preview: Iowa at Michigan State

The Hawkeyes have just three wins in East Lansing in the last 30 years. They’ll need one Tuesday to keep their hopes for a Big Ten title alive.

Can Iowa find a way to really upset Tom Izzo? Probably.

After a big time home win over #25 Ohio State, the Iowa Hawkeyes are entering a very difficult final stretch of the 2019-2020 season. Not only is it a difficult stretch, but also a critical one. As of Monday morning, Iowa is in a four-way tie for second place in the Big Ten along with Penn State, Wisconsin and Michigan State.

This difficult stretch now kicks off with that same Michigan State team. Unfortunately for Iowa, this one is in East Lansing for the only matchup of the year between these two teams. The Breslin Center is a notoriously difficult place to play for anyone, but it’s been a house of horrors for Iowa in particular. The Hawkeyes have just one win in East Lansing (2016) since 1993 and just three total in the last 30 years. The Spartans have won four straight against Iowa.

Here’s your quick look at the matchup between Iowa and Michigan State.
