The Iowa Hawkeyes are back on the road this afternoon as they look for their first road win in over a month. Iowa will be without freshman sharpshooter CJ Fredrick as they travel to Minneapolis to take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers.
The Hawkeyes handled Minnesota easily in their first matchup in Carver-Hawkeye Arena back in December. That was with Fredrick. Heading to Williams Arena without him will present a challenge as the Gophers have taken down the likes of Penn State, Michigan and Ohio State at home this season, despite a sub-.500 Big Ten record and just a 12-11 record overall.
It will be a battle of the big men as Iowa’s superstar Luka Garza faces off with the conference’s leading rebounder in Daniel Oturu. Can Garza carry the load against a fellow star post player? Can Iowa find outside shooting without Fredrick? We’re about to find out.
