The Hawkeyes look to wrap up week one of the 2020 season undefeated.

NCAA Basketball: North Carolina Central at Iowa
The Hawkeyes are back in Carver for game #2
Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

The Hawkeyes had a bit of a slow start in their first game of the 2020-2021 season, but turned up the heat to pull away quickly in the second half for 97-67 win over North Carolina Central, despite reserves playing most of the final ten minutes.

Yesterday, NC Central faced off with the Southern Jaguars, needing overtime to get their first win of the year 85-78 inside Carver-Hawkeye. Now, Southern with try to get things going as they match up with the #5 Hawkeyes. Iowa is again favored big and should be able to get more work for reserves in this one, but as we saw on Wednesday, the Hawkeyes can’t sleepwalk to victory.
