We’re to that point of the year where we’re seeing cancellations and postponements just about every week. We saw multiple SEC and Pac-12 games fall into that category a week ago. This week we’ve seen two more from the SEC and Pac-12 get impacted, as well as one int he ACC and one from the Big Ten ( Michigan State at Maryland). Still others, including Minnesota and Purdue Friday night, are impacted without cancellation as players infected have to quarantine.
Fortunately for Iowa fans, the Hawkeyes have yet to be impacted by cancelled or postponed games since the new schedule started in October. That remains true this weekend with a 2:30 kick at Penn State scheduled for Saturday. And despite some impacts, there are still plenty of other games to take in.
Here’s a look at all the this week’s games and where to find each one.
Friday, November 20th
There are a handful of games scheduled for Friday night, including a Big Ten matchup worth paying attention to. The action gets kicked off at 6pm as Syracuse travels to Louisville in an ACC matchup. That one is on ESPN.
Then at 6:30, the Big Ten gets into action. If it’s Friday night Big Ten football, it’s a decent bet it’s PJ Fleck and the Minnesota Golden Gophers. They’re playing host to Purdue on BTN.
At 7, CBS Sports Network has UMass at Florida Atlantic in a “hey, there’s more football on TV” kind of game. The action wraps up with an 8:30 kick featuring New Mexico at Air Force. You can find that one on FS1.
Saturday, November 21st
Things get rolling on Saturday with the usual 11am kicks. There are four games featuring at least one ranked team in the early slot. That includes Appalachian State at #15 Coastal Carolina on ESPN2, #4 Clemson at Florida State on ABC and #6 Florida at Vanderbilt on ESPN. The real gem, though, is a Big Ten East showdown featuring #9 Indiana at #3 Ohio State. You can find that one on FOX.
The other early kicks of potential interest are Illinois at Nebraska on BTN and LSU at Arkansas on the SEC Network.
There’s not a lot in the way of staggered starts this week and the afternoon slate gets started at 2:30. This, of course, is where the Hawkeyes slot in. That’s on BTN.
Elsewhere in that time slot you’ve got three more games featuring ranked teams. ESPN has #7 Cincinnati at UCF and ESPN2 has UCLA at #11 Oregon. The most interesting one, however, is #10 Wisconsin at #19 Northwestern. That’s on ABC.
You’ve got a few staggered starts at 3pm that could be worth a glance during TV timeouts. Kentucky is at #1 Alabama on the SEC Network. FOX has Kansas State at #17 Iowa State. And the ACC Network has Virginia Tech at Pitt.
The evening games get kicked off at 6pm. There’s just one of those early games, but it features Tennessee at #23 Auburn on ESPN.
The prime time slate gets rolling at 6:30. The SEC Network has Mississippi State at #13 Georgia while the BTN has Michigan at Rutgers. Fun fact: Rutgers has as many wins through four weeks as Michigan and Penn State combined. Four.
Anywho, the real one to watch at 6:30 is #14 Oklahoma State at #18 Oklahoma. That’s on ABC.
You’ve got one staggered start at 7, featuring Arizona at Washington. That’s on FOX.
And in the night cap, there are a pair of games. At 9:30, #20 USC is at Utah on ESPN. Things wrap up with Boise State at Hawaii in a 10pm kick on CBS Sports Network.
And that’s it for this week. Here’s a look at the full slate of games this weekend.
