College Football Week 11 Viewing Guide

No Iowa on Saturday means more time to watch college football and eat bacon!

After two weeks of wishing college football didn’t exist, Iowa fans are back on the bandwagon thanks to a blowout win over Michigan State in week three and a most enjoyable beat down of Minnesota on Friday night. As strange as it was to see Iowa on our TV screens on a Friday night That wasn’t Black Friday, it sets up for an enjoyable Saturday of college football and golf viewing.

Unfortunately, COVID-19 might dictate that viewing is geared more toward The Masters than college football. We’ve already seen a trio of SEC games get cancelled (I suppose I’ve seen the phrase “postponed” thrown out, but given the schedules there are no possible reschedule dates availabel), as well as Ohio State’s matchup with Maryland on Saturday. Arizona State is in the midst of a massive outbreak that has their game with Cal cancelled while Utah at UCLA is already off. Frankly it’s getting a little depressing.

BUT IOWA PLAYER ON A FRIDAY NIGHT AND WE CAN WATCH AS MUCH FOOTBALL AS WE CAN GET ON SATURDAY SO LET’S GO!

Here’s a look at this week’s games and where to find each one.

Saturday, November 14th

So, what’s on deck for your viewing pleasure Saturday since there is no Iowa game? Well, it is a slimmed down slate with the cancellations, but there is still football and you’ve got The Masters all weekend as well.

Things kick off on Saturday with the 11am slate. That includes #9 Miami at Virginia Tech on ESPN, #10 Indiana at Michigan State on ABC, Middle Tennessee at #16 Marshall on CBSSN and Western Carolina at #22 Liberty (wait, what?) on ESPNU in terms of games featuring ranked opponents. In the Big Ten, you’ve got Penn State at Nebraska on FS1. The ACC Network has Wake Forest at North Carolina while the SEC Network has Vanderbilt at Kentucky. And FOX has TCU at West Virginia.

With all the missing games, the Big Ten is giving us a staggered start at noon with Illinois at Rutgers on BTN. Then at 1pm CT you can watch #25 Louisiana hosting South Alabama if you subscribe to ESPN+(and frankly if you’ve got young kids you should check out the ESPN+/Disney+/Hulu bundle to see if it makes sense for you).

In the 2:30 slate, you’ve got #2 Notre Dame at Boston College on ABC. We’ll see if BC has thousands of fans rush the field if they pull of the upset. FOX has #20 USC at Arizona. Feels like USC might be overrated given what Iowa fans saw from them last time they were on the field together. ESPN has Colorado at Stanford and ESPN2 has USF at Houston while the ACC Network has Louisville at Virginia.

In the afternoon there are a pair of staggered starts worth considering. At 3pm CT you have Baylor at Texas Tech on FS1. Then at 4 you’ve got #23 Northwestern at Purdue in a battle for the Big Ten West (sigh) on BTN.

The evening slate kicks off at 6 with a trio of games. ESPN has Arkansas at #6 Florida, FOX has #11 Oregon at Washington State and ESPN2 has #19 SMU at Tulsa.

The 6:30 primetime slot has #13 Wisconsin back in action at Michigan. The ACC Network has Florida State at NC State and the SEC Network has South Carolina at Ole Miss.

In the night cal, you’ve got UNLV at San Jose State on FS2 kicking off at 9:30. Things wrap up at 10pm with Oregon State at Washington.

And that’s it for this week. Here’s a look at the full slate of games this weekend.
