It’s Week 11 of high school football and we are in the Playoffs in most states. Each week we will examine stats, future opponents, and highlight videos.
Note: After originally canceling their fall season, Minnesota reversed the decision and is now playing.
Illinois still plans to play high school football in the spring.

Ankeny avenged their lone loss of the season by defeating Waukee (7-3) 28-7. Brecht had 4 receptions for 63 yards. He also had a punt return for 27 yards. Brecht also had a 25 yard punt return.
On the season Brecht has 39 catches, 582 yards, and 11 touchdowns. He has 1 interception on defense and a 57 yards punt return for a touchdown.
This week Ankeny (9-1) will face Dowling Catholic (8-1) in the state semifinals.
Arland Bruce, WR

Bruce was spectacular and a big reason Ankeny avenged their lone loss. He had 21 carries for 202 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground. Bruce also collected 5 catches for 89 yards and 1 touchdown.
In five games, he has 55 carries for 482 yards and 6 touchdowns on the ground. Through the air he has secured 21 catches for 347 yards and 4 touchdowns. On special teams he has 3 kick returns for 51 yards and 3 punt returns for 11 yards.
Connor Colby, OL
Hometown: Cedar Rapids, IA (Kennedy)

Cedar Rapids Kennedy fell to top ranked Southeast Polk (9-0) 0-48 in the state quarterfinals. On offense Kennedy struggled to move the ball totally 120 yards.
Cedar Rapids Kennedy finished the season with a final record of 4-4.

Cooper DeJean, ATH
Hometown: Ida Grove, IA (OABCIG)
Height: 6’2”

DeJean powered the OABCIG offense to a 63-14 win over West Sioux (7-3). Through the air DeJean had 3 touchdowns and 226 yards on 15-25 passing. He also rushed for 3 touchdowns on his 12 carries totaling 197 yards. He also recorded an interception and sack on defense.
DeJean’s season totals are 164/270 for 2718 yards, 27 touchdowns, and 7 interceptions. He also has 107 carries for 1089 yards and 21 touchdowns. Defensively he has accounted for 39.5 tackles (34 are solo). He has scored 3 special teams touchdowns with a kick return and two punt returns for a touchdown.
On Saturday OABCIG (10-0) will take on Sigourney Keota (10-0) at the state semifinals.

Harrell had 58 carries for 381 yards and 5 touchdowns. He’s secured 8 catches for 65 yards out of the backfield. The future linebacker totals 45.5 tackles, 5.5 TFL, and 2 sacks on defense. Harrell contributes to special teams as well as Urbandale’s punter.
Keagan Johnson, WR
Hometown: Bellevue, NE (Bellevue West)

Bellevue West lost a heartbreaker in OT 40-41 to Kearney (5-4). Kearney lined up two players over Johnson when he was at wide receiver limiting him to 4 receptions for 36 yards. Bellevue West used him in other ways where he was 3-3 passing for 29 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also carried the ball 16 times for 70 yards and 2 touchdowns.
They end their season 6-1. On the season Johnson had 51 receptions for 935 yards and 10 touchdowns. He also had 28 carries for 170 yards and 7 rushing touchdowns. Through the air he went 3-4 for 29 yards and 2 touchdowns as a Wildcat quarterback.
Joey Labas, QB
Hometown: Broadview Heights, OH (Brecksville-Broadview Heights)

Brecksville-Broadview Heights finished their season 7-2.
Labas totaled 2349 yards and 16 touchdowns on 167-246 passing. On the ground he carried the ball 76 times for 190 yards and 6 touchdowns.
