It’s Week 7 of high school football and the majority of future Hawkeyes were on the field. Each week we will examine stats, future opponents, and highlight videos.
Note: After originally canceling their fall season, Minnesota reversed the decision and practices were allowed to begin September 28th.
Illinois still plans to play high school football in the spring.
Jeff Bowie, DE
Hometown: West Branch, IA (West Branch)
Height: 6’5”

Bowie finished with 4.5 tackles, 3 TFL, and 2 sacks as West Branch defeated Beckman Catholic 35-21 for their fourth consecutive win. On the season, Bowie has 17 tackles, 10 TFL, and 4 sacks.
The West Branch Bears (5-2) open post season with a bye.
Brody Brecht, WR
Hometown: Ankeny, IA (Ankeny)

Ankeny picked up a big win over Indianola (3-4) 45-14 this week. Brecht continued his dominance in the redzone as he had 3 receptions for 42 yards and 2 touchdowns.
On the season Brecht has 30 catches, 421 yards, and 10 touchdowns. He has 1 interception on defense and a 57 yards punt return for a touchdown.
Next week Ankeny (6-1) has a bye and then will play the winner of Sioux City West and Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson.
Arland Bruce, WR
Hometown: Ankeny, IA (Ankeny) *Previously Olathe, KS (Olathe North)

Bruce continued his do-it-all ways against Indianola as he finished with 6 carries for 71 yards and a touchdown. He also had 7 receptions for 88 yards, and a 6 yard punt return on special teams.
Bruce did not become eligible to play until Week 6 after winning an appeal following his move from Kansas. For the season, he has 17 carries for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. Through the air he has secured 10 catches for 112 yards and a touchdown. On special teams he has 1 kick return for 26 yards and 1 punt return for 6 yards. In just two weeks, Bruce has shown himself to be one of the most electric players in the entire state.
Connor Colby, OL
Hometown: Cedar Rapids, IA (Kennedy)
Height: 6’6”

Cedar Rapids Kennedy fell to Iowa City West 21-48 this week. The Cougars averaged 4.8 yards per carry on 33 carries but it was not enough.
Cedar Rapids Kennedy (2-3) has a bye this week and plays Dubuque Senior (4-3) the following week.
Cooper DeJean, ATH
Hometown: Ida Grove, IA (OABCIG)
Height: 6’2”

After a slow start, DeJean and OABCIG cruised to another commanding win this week over Treynor 57-20. He finished with 243 yards passing and 2 touchdowns on 21 of 28 passes. He also carried the ball 6 times for 120 yards and 4 touchdowns, and had 8 tackles on defense.
DeJean’s season totals are 112/186 for 1952 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions. He also has 72 carries for 741 yards and 15 touchdowns. Defensively he has accounted for 34.5 tackles (30are solo). He has scored 2 special teams touchdowns with a kick return and punt return for a touchdown.
On Friday OABCIG (7-0) has a bye for the first round and then will face the winner of Missouri Valley and East Sac County.
Jaden Harrell, LB
Hometown: Urbandale, IA (Urbandale)
Height: 6’2”

Urbandale lost for the first time this year, 17-38 at Waukee. Harrell carried the ball 4 times for 9 yards while nabbing 2 receptions for 25 yards. Defensively he recorded 9 tackles and 1 TFL.
Through 6 games Harrell has 49 carries for 319 yards and 5 touchdowns. He’s secured 7 catches for 57 yards out of the backfield. The future linebacker totals 37.5 tackles, 4.5 TFL, and 2 sacks on defense. Harrell contributes to special teams as well as Urbandale’s punter.
Next week the J-Hawks have a bye and will play the following week against Marshalltown (3-4).
Keagan Johnson, WR
Hometown: Bellevue, NE (Bellevue West)
Height: 6’1”

Bellevue West took down Millard West 42-7 and Johnson had his fourth big night of the year. The standout wide receiver hauled in 4 receptions for 176 yards and 2 touchdowns. As a Wildcat quarterback, Johnson carried the ball once for 4 yards. On special teams Johnson also had a 47 yard kick return.
On the season Johnson has 24 receptions for 534 yards and 7 touchdowns. He also has 11 carries for 92 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns. Bellevue West (4-0) is scheduled to take on Columbus (5-2) this week.
Joey Labas, QB
Hometown: Broadview Heights, OH (Brecksville-Broadview Heights)
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 190

Brecksville-Broadview Heights had a bye this week. Here were last weeks highlights.
Labas has totaled 1438 yards and 10 touchdowns on 109-167 passing. On the ground he has carried the ball 55 times for 139 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Brecksville-Broadview Heights (5-1) hosts Clay (1-5) on Friday.
Griffin Liddle, DT
Hometown: Bettendorf, IA (Bettendorf)
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 275

Bettendorf concluded the regular season with a 45-0 win over Davenport West. Liddle did not record any statistics.
His season totals are 14 tackles with 6.5 TFL and 0.5 sack.
Bettendorf (4-2) has a first round bye before playing Muscatine (3-4) the following week.
Max Llewellyn, DE
Hometown: Urbandale, IA (Urbandale)
Height: 6’5”

Llewellyn had 1 receptions on offense for 12 yards, but on defense Llewellyn chipped in with 5.5 tackles, 0.5 TFL, and 0.5 sack.
Llewellyn now has 13 catches for 278 yards and 2 touchdown on offense to go along with his 21 tackles, 9 TFL, and 4.5 sacks on defense.
Jordan Oladokun, DB

Oladokun and Gaither (4-0) picked up the 27-0 win over Chamberlain. He finished with 2 tackles, 1 pass defended, and a 19 yard punt return.
On the season Oladokun 12 receptions, 183 yards, and 3 touchdowns. Defensively he has 3 tackles and 2 PBU as a lockdown corner.
Next week they play at Land O’Lakes (1-1).

Twedt is out for the remainder of the season due to a shoulder injury. He finished the season with 29 carries for 103 yards and 2 receptions for 3 yards on offense. He ended up recording 14 tackles on defense.
Roland-Story (0-6) finished the regular season with a 40-56 loss to Clear Lake.
