The Iowa Hawkeyes made it through the weekend unscathed and so did we (except for Max, who is okay but was unable to join).
We briefly discussed our weekends - Ben’s in the Cabo of greater Phoenix (Scottsdale) and mine down in Fayetteville - before getting into the stuff you really want to hear: Hawkeye football hot takes.
We centered our discussion around three things we liked and didn’t like and somehow we seemed to like more from the offense than from the defense. 14 points and 245 yards yielded (59 rushing!) is about as good as an underwhelming defense can be.
Perhaps our biggest points of agreement were around Ihmir Smith-Marsette and Brian Ferentz’s willingness to utilize him. Mekhi Sargent is also very good! (But I struggled with his name in embarrassing fashion, sorry dude!)
