The Hawkeyes overcame a lot in yesterday’s 18-17 victory over Iowa State for their 5th straight Cy-Hawk win. That includes a number of injuries at key spots and two different wrath delays that spanned more than three hours total.
But in the end, they came away victorious in a hostile environment, complete with ESPN’s GameDay coverage all morning, against a borderline top-25 team. It wasn’t always pretty, but it wasn’t a loss.
That was enough to bump the Hawkeyes up in the most recent AP poll. After being ranked 19th coming into the game, the road win bumped Iowa up to 18, thanks in part to a home loss by previously 18th ranked Michigan State.
POLL ALERT: Utah jumps to No. 10, Cal and Arizona St in to give Pac-12 six teams in Top 25 presented by @askRegions; Clemson, Alabama 1-2.
