We’re right smack dab in the middle of Preseason Poll season with a new Top-25 list coming out seemingly every day. SB Nation’s version is different because YOU all decide who is ranked where. That is, only if you are signed up to participate! The first Top-25 is comprised of the feedback from 66 different SB Nation College Football communities and here are the results:

Iowa has some work to do if it’s going to be as special of a season as many of us think it will be based on the poll results. Half of the Hawkeyes’ schedule is in the initial Top-25 and while a lot of these rankings are sure to change, it seems like the haters are going to have to look somewhere else besides the schedule if they’re going to knock the Hawkeyes this season.
Unsurprisingly, the Iowa-specific voters ranked the Hawkeyes 14th. The other Big Ten sites have Iowa anywhere from 18-20, while the biggest haters are our pals over in Ames who ranked Iowa 21st. Shout out to you guys though for being more realistic in your ranking of the Cyclones (20th) further proving why Iowa is the Hawkeye State. Here are the full Iowa-specific results:
- Clemson
- Alabama
- Georgia
- Oklahoma
- Ohio State
- Michigan
- Notre Dame
- Florida
- Texas
- Texas A&M
- LSU
- Oregon
- Washington
- Iowa
- Penn State
- Utah
- UCF
- Wisconsin
- Auburn
- Iowa State
- Northwestern
- Michigan State
- Miami
- Nebraska
- Virginia Tech
Digging through the rest of the team specific results, there seems to be a near consensus with the Top 5 being Clemson, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Ohio State. It’ll be interesting to see how those 5 move throughout the season and if anyone else can crack the Top 5.
If you disagree with the rankings above, sign up and let your voice be heard!
FanPulse is a weekly survey of the college brands here at SB Nation. Each week, those who selected to participate will receive an email with a survey to complete with questions about your favorite team (that would be the Hawkeyes, right?). It’s completely free to join and 100% anonymous.
The results from the surveys will be consolidated into a weekly top-25 (like you saw in this post). If you want to participate, you can sign up here. If you don’t, that’s cool, but don’t let it be because you think you’re uninformed. That hasn’t stopped people who get paid to do this from voting:
