Luke Lachey, a 6-6 tight end out of Columbus got a call from Brian Ferentz, and when you’re a tight end in high school, you answer that call every day of the week and twice on Sunday’s.
Lachey is walking on campus with an impressive frame to work with—other teams are SCARED of what a couple years of Doyle are gonna do to him.
I know it’s highlight reel yada yada, but a lot of things stick out to me in this tape:
- He’s a man amongst boys.
- He was working with three different quarterbacks that season.
- He’s among the best I’ve seen at just climbing the ladder and getting the dang ball.
- Why did teams kick to him?
Lachey has a really impressive offer list: he was predicted to go to Michigan State, but flipped to the Hawks. Wisconsin, LSU, West Virginia, and Kentucky offered Lachey, as did a bunch of other crappy schools. His hometown Ohio State expressed interest, whatever that means, but did not offer the kid from their own backyard. That decision probably won’t bite them in the ass!
So welcome aboard, Mr. Lachey. We look forward to your domination on the gridiron, I envision many touchdowns in your future.
