Hawkeye Sports Properties, the folks who manage the multimedia rights for the University of Iowa, have given us yet another Friday news dump:

You can read about Dolphin’s comments made between he and Bobby Hansen during their call of Tuesday’s loss to Maryland here. Audio of the call can be found here.

This is the second time Dolphin has found himself in trouble this season. Earlier in the year, he was given a two-game suspension for airing his criticisms of Maishe Dailey on a hot mic.

Dolphin has released a statement in regards to his suspension:

The official statement from the University of Iowa is brief:

The University of Iowa athletics department supports Hawkeye Sports Properties decision to indefinitely suspend radio play-by-play announcer Gary Dolphin.

The University of Iowa athletics department values diversity and is committed to creating a welcoming environment for all members of its campus community.

Jim Albracht and Hansen will call Iowa’s games for the remainder of the season.
