Movin’ on Up!

NCAA Basketball: Kennesaw State at Iowa Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

Iowa basketball is the gift that keeps on giving as the Hawkeyes moved up two spots to No. 23 after a dominating win over the HATED Kennesaw State Owls yesterday afternoon.

It’s welcome news as Iowa prepares for the teeth of its Big Ten schedule: the Hawkeyes head to Philly this weekend to take on No. 21 Penn State. Games against No. 15 Maryland and No. 12 Michigan are also on the January slate for Luka Garza & Associates.

The Big Ten boasts six teams in the top-25: besides the aforementioned there’s also No. 14 Michigan State and No. 5 Ohio State on the schedule. Purdue and Indiana received votes in this week’s poll.

The Hawkeyes cracked the top-25 in the USA Today coaches poll, coming in at... 25th.

Texas Tech, whom Iowa defeated, placed one spot ahead of Iowa in the AP poll. A San Diego State team that toppled Iowa is currently No. 13.
