The No. 25 Iowa basketball team has one last tune-up this afternoon before it gets into the meat of its Big Ten schedule in taking on a 1-11 Kennesaw State squad.
Due to Kennesaw State’s overall ineptness (the Owls are 342 out of 353 teams according to KenPom) and the fact the BHGP staff is recovering from a speedball of the Holiday Bowl win and gingerbread withdrawal, our preview of the game is as follows: Kennesaw State is the worst team Iowa will face all season, and the 29.5 point spread speaks to that. (My favorite thing I saw when doing light research is the Owls’ 74-38 loss to Murray State on Dec. 16. KSU’s lone win on the year was a 85-61 triumph over Gardner Webb on Dec. 13.)
If Iowa can’t put together a convincing win here, well they’ll have a week to figure things out before taking on No. 20 Penn State at the Palestra on Jan. 4.
