The crop of prospects in the state of Iowa for 2021 is being touted nationally as one of the best in recent memory. In the class of 2020, however, there are plenty of top prospects within the state.
One such prospect is Iowa commit Logan Jones of Council Bluffs. Jones is a 4-star prospect according to 247 Sports, though Rivals only rates him 3-stars.
Today, more than 10 months after committing to Iowa, he is officially a Hawkeye.

Jones has a good frame to add bulk and excellent burst off the line. While he played plenty of defensive end for Lewis Central, he’s likely to move inside to DT at Iowa.
He has experience there as he played both inside at out at the high school level. As a senior Jones finished with 33 tackles, 17 TFL and 8.5 sacks. The TFL and sack numbers are staggering for a guy playing substantial time on the interior of the line.
Those numbers came by way of his combination of speed and power. Jones does well in the run game powering through or shedding blockers and diagnosing plays quickly. He also shows a nice spin move in the pass rush and closing speed to run down skill players at the high school level.
It’s easy to see why Jones had offers from Iowa State, Minnesota and Nebraska, as well as early interest from Notre Dame before committing to Iowa last February. Now he’s locked in as a Hawkeye.
Welcome aboard, officially, Logan Jones!
