Week 10 College Football Watch Guide

Week 10 of the college football schedule is devoid of interesting matchups outside a lone top-10 face-off in the SEC.

The Hawkeyes are on a bye this week, leaving Iowa fans across the country with time to kick back, relax and enjoy college football. We’ll all finally have those extra 3 hours to take in some big time matchups and catch up on everything we’ve been missing this season from teams like Alabama, Oklahoma, Ohio State and so many more. It’s going to be a great weekend.

***checks notes***

Wait, none of those teams are playing? NONE?!? Are you kidding me?!?!?

Apparently, like Iowa, the vast majority of teams across the country are on bye this week. A full 9 of the top 25 teams in the country have the weekend off. Making matters worse, 2 of the remaining 16 teams played last night with #20 Appalachian State falling at home to Georgia Southern and #12 Baylor escaping with their lives after nearly losing at home to West Virginia.

There are only two games this weekend that feature a pair of ranked teams facing off and the slate in the Big Ten will make you vomit in your mouth. It’s an objectively terrible weekend of college football. BUT, if you don’t have anything better to do, there will be football games on TV.

That includes tonight as UConn hosts a 6-1 Navy. It’s a 7pm kick and you can find that one on ESPN2.

Saturday Games

In the early slate of games, we get the only matchup featuring a ranked Big Ten team as #14 Michigan travels to Maryland at 11am. That’s on ABC and it’s entirely representative of how bad the entire Big Ten slate is for this weekend.

It’s a rough, rough weekend across college football and the Big Ten is no exception.

As you can see, the other Big Ten matchup in the early slate features Nebraska at Purdue. That one’s on FOX.

Elsewhere, ESPN brings you NC State at #23 Wake Forest. And that’s really all there is in the early slate.

In the afternoon, things get started early with NBC having a staggered 1:30pm start time for Virginia Tech at #16 Notre Dame. That could actually be an interesting game, particularly in this desert wasteland of a lineup.

At 2:30 Rutgers is at Illinois on BTN. That will be as disgusting as it sounds. FS1 has #22 Kansas State at Kansas. But the real gem of the entire day is on CBS as #6 Florida hosts #8 Georgia for a battle over who claims Florida Georgia Line as their own.

FOX also joins the stagger party with a 3pm kick for #9 Utah at Washington in what could be an interesting game.

In the evening, Northwestern is at Indiana at 6pm on FS1. Don’t look now, but Indiana is decent at football! Over on ESPN, #11 Auburn is hosting Ole Miss. And #17 Cincinnati will be at East Carolina on CBS Sports.

At 6:30, ABC has #15 SMU at #24 Memphis. Hey, they’re both ranked!

Then at 7, FOX has #7 Oregon at USC. Maybe that gets interesting?

Things round out with #21 Boise State at unranked San Jose State at 9:30 over on CBS Sports.

And that’s it. Really. Those are the “good” ones. Enjoy your Saturday putting away Halloween decorations and raking leaves!
