On this weeks episode of SpoCo Radio, the boys start off by discussing the new collegiate athlete compensation law in California and the unintentional consequences (if any?) that will come from players getting paid for their likeness. We then briefly discuss the best endorsement deals some Iowa Hawkeyes would have had featuring double Mitch King and Fran McCaffery (who I then realized wasn’t a player and already gets paid off his likeness... either way, the joke slaps).
We then take a look at the Big Ten and Iowa through four games by playing “Big Deal or Not Big Deal” with some storylines and statistics we found. Is Iowa’s current run game success a big deal? What about Iowa’s sack total, Nate’s passing efficiency, Wisconsin’s passing game, Rutgers firing Chris Ash, Josh Gattis coaching from the sideline and Scott Frost being 7-10 as the Nebraska head coach.
After that, we finish up previewing the Michigan game and lay out our picks of the week (which is a bunch of trash games revolving around Iowa/Michigan and Michigan State/Ohio State.
It’s a jam packed show.
