The 5-9 senior from LaGrange Park, IL (Benet Academy) is the Hawkeyes top returning player from a team that went 29-7 last year, losing in the Elite Eight to the eventual national champion Baylor Bears. Last season, Doyle averaged 12.0 points per game and led the Big Ten in assists with 5.9 per game (170 total).
Doyle was also named as one of the 20 initial members of the Ann Meyers Drysdale watch list which recognizes the top point guard in the country.
The Hawkeyes lose a lot of firepower from their three graduated seniors Megan Gustafson, Hannah Stewart, and Tania Davis so Doyle will have to help pick up the slack.
Iowa’s first game is November 7 and we’ll have an update on the team prior to the first game.
