Week 8 FanPulse Data
Iowa managed to get back in the win column vs Purdue on Saturday but that win wasn’t enough to get the Hawkeyes back into the FanPulse Top 25 this week. Here are this week’s newest rankings:
The biggest moves in the Big Ten happened to the two teams that suffered major losses this week. Michigan held on to the last spot in the top 25 after losing in Happy Valley while Wisconsin, after being upset against Illinois, tumbled out of the Top 10 to 12th in the poll. Penn St. and Ohio St. both moved up slightly this week after wins as well.
You’ll notice the Hawkeyes are still absent from the Top 25 although they are in the receiving votes section in the data so people at least are still keeping tabs on the Hawkeyes despite two high profile losses. The Iowa poll specifically, has Iowa at #20 in the country.
Fan confidence also rebounded as well following a win as Iowa fans’ confidence rose back up to 69% (nice). The jump was pretty surprising given the amount of negativity around the play calling against Purdue. Winning might truly cure all but I think a lot of the fanbase wants to see more consistent and better play calling from Brian Ferentz beginning this week against Northwestern.
Looking ahead to this weekend’s games, the voters are most looking forward to the Auburn-LSU game while the Wisconsin-Ohio St. matchup is also a highly anticipated matchup.
