College Football Week 7 Watch Guide & Games Thread

The Hawkeyes don’t play until tonight, but there are plenty of great matchups to feel the void today.

The Hawkeyes have a top ten matchup later tonight as the Penn State Nittany Lions come to Kinnick for a 6:30 pm CT kick. But before the Iowa kicks off, there are a number of intriguing matchups worth watching today.

Let’s take a look at what to watch and where to find the games.

Early Games

The 11am slate brings us games involving 5 ranked teams. Unfortunately, 3 of those ranked teams are playing in relatively meaningless games. You can catch #16 Michigan at Illinois on ABC and #3 Georgia is hosting South Carolina on ESPN. But the matchup of the week, really, is the Red River Rivalry between #6 Oklahoma and #11 Texas. That one’s in the early slate and you can find it on FOX.

Afternoon Games

Things get a little more interesting in the afternoon. At 2:30 CT you’ve got #1 Alabama traveling to #24 Texas A&M (how A&M is still ranked 24th is a discussion for another time). That’s on CBS. ABC has Florida State at #2 Clemson. BTN is carrying #8 Wisconsin as they host Michigan State. And if you get the PAC-12 Network, #18 Arizona State is hosting Washington State in what could be a fun matchup.

At 3pm, Texas Tech is at #22 Baylor on FS1. You’ve also got Iowa State at West Virginia on ESPN.

Evening Games

The big game in the evening slate is obviously our #17 Hawkeyes hosting #10 Penn State. IN case you missed it, the game is at 6:30 on ABC. Set your DVR accordingly.

If you’re at home and in need of something to watch during the commercial breaks, NBC has #9 Notre Dame hosting USC. And FS1 has Nebraska at Minnesota in a matchup we can only hope ends with both teams losing.

At 7, ESPN has #7 Florida at #5 LSU. This one may not have the history of the Red River Rivalry, but it’ll probably be a better game. And over on the PAC-12 Network you’ve got #15 Utah at Oregon State.

In the late games, you’ve got #14 Boise State hosting Hawaii on ESPN. That’s a 9:15 kick. And then things round out with Arizona hosting Washington at 10pm on FS1.

Here’s a look at the entire slate of games today.
