Oh buddy.
Coming off the Cy-Hawk win in week two, the Hawkeyes have only a matchup with FCS Northern Iowa standing between them and the defending Big Ten West champion Wisconsin Badgers. The two will face off on September 22nd in beautiful and historic Kinnick Stadium.
And apparently, they’ll do it under the lights.
While that isn’t exactly definitive, this is:

The game will be nationally televised on FOX. Why does this night game matter? Uh, have you been to a night game in Kinnick? Have you been there as a top-5 team? How’d that go?
Not well, I can assure you. Iowa is 4-1 against top-5 opponents in Kinnick in the last decade. That lone loss came a season ago when Penn State was able to sneak a touchdown pass over the outstretched arms of Amani Hooker on the final play of the game to win 21-19. The Hawkeyes took revenge on the next top-5 opponent to walk through the door when they throttled Ohio State 55-24. People forget that.
Now the Hawkeyes will host a Wisconsin team that will amost certainly be ranked in the top-5 with the winner sitting firmly in the driver’s seat for the Big Ten West and a trip to Indianapolis.
Get your big boy pants on and buckle up, this is going to be a fun ride.
Go Hawks!
