Even though football season is right around the corner, Iowa basketball wants to remind us of its existence.
In doing so, the team released it’s non-conference schedule for the 2018-19 campaign, and boy, it’s a doozy.

Now it’s too early to say how Iowa’s RPI is going to look once the season gets underway, but I don’t this non-con schedule is going to do Iowa any favors once the word “bracketology” starts getting thrown around the four-lettered network and water coolers, especially if Iowa falters in the 2K classic. It’s also unfortunate Iowa drew Pitt in the B1G-ACC challenge, seeing as how the Panthers went 8-24 last season and failed to win a conference game.
Furthermore, Iowa’s non-con lacks a true road game, adding more ammunition to detractors once Selection Sunday rears its head.
I predict that once again, Iowa will be in control of its own destiny once the Big Ten slate rolls around. And recent history doesn’t give me great hope there.
