Iowa football’s scholarship is clearing up a little bit by way of attrition:
New beginnings...
— Cedric Boswell (@cjboswell98) June 11, 2018
Just a couple days after the team announced it was bringing aboard a graduate transfer running back, Cedric Boswell, a redshirt sophomore cornerback announced his intentions to leave the Iowa football program.
You guys may have seen him tweet earlier this week, but Iowa football has confirmed that CB Cedric Boswell has left the team as a transfer.

Boswell redshirted in 2016. The only action he saw last year was in Iowa’s blowout against Illinois. His name wasn’t mentioned in this year’s edition of Spring Camp Studs, and with a really crowded defensive backfield, the writing was probably on the wall.
Boswell, a Detroit native, was a three-star cornerback recruit back in 2016. Iowa was his only major offer. He had offers from just about every MAC team, though.
It’s unclear where Boswell will wind up. It’s also unclear what’s going to happen with Iowa’s scholarship situation. They’re still two over the limit in that department. So now it’s just a matter of time to see what happens there.
