Tonight is an important night for Hawkeye football fans. Some of us aren’t as fervent supporters of the NFL compared to the college game, but tonight we decide which NFL team we’re gonna cheer for the next couple years based on their draft selection (or lack of, Chicago Bears).
By my elementary estimation, Iowa could have anywhere between four and eight players taken in this draft, while a few others will certainly get camp invites. Two players could (and likely will) go in the first round tonight, as many mock drafts have Josh Jackson and James Daniels projected as first-rounders.
Jackson will also be in the building for the draft, one of 22 players invited to attend in-person. Another cool part of that:
Iowa HC Kirk Ferentz & DC Phil Parker will be in Dallas on Thursday night, joining @Joshrando3 in the green room for Round 1 of the NFL Draft.

Ferentz and Parker were given tickets to attend by Jackson, and as far as I can tell this is Ferentz’s first trip to a green room, but I could be wrong. Either way, it’s gonna be pretty cool to see the Hawkeyes well-represented on TV tonight.
The NFL draft lasts the next three days, and we’ll be your one-stop-shop of all things Hawkeye during that period (just like always) so keep your browser open to get the latest news of Iowa relevance.
Here’s a couple of mock drafts that include some Hawkeyes:
