Thanks to Iowa’s track record of producing high quality defensive ends these past few seasons, Iowa was able to lasso another big commitment from Michigan DE Jalen Hunt, who signed his letter of intent this morning.

Hunt, a three-star recruit by Rivals and 247, was a much sought after defensive line product from Belleville, MI. He garnered offers from 12 other schools, including seven Power 5 institutions (Michigan State, Minnesota, Louisville, Kentucky, Missouri, Pitt, and Boston College).
Hunt is a versatile, athletic lineman who Belleville lined up both inside and outside, and who even played running back at points of his career. As a senior, Belleville finished the season 12-1, falling in the Michigan Division 1 semifinals. Hunt finished with 67 tackles, an impressive 27 tackles for loss and an even more impressive 13 sacks.
Hunt is one of three defensive linemen who committed to the Hawkeyes before the Early Signing Period began, including Wisconsin DE Jake Karchinski and Iowa DE Chris Reames.
