It’s probably a bit of a surprise to some, but your Iowa Hawkeyes remain in the College Football Playoff rankings following their Week 10 loss to the Purdue Boilermakers.

Iowa is one of five Big Ten schools who is ranked in this week’s edition of the rankings, and are fifth behind Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, and Penn State - that means that they’re obviously the top ranked Big Ten West team despite being in fourth place in the division.
Also of note in this week’s rankings:
- As things stand, Michigan would play Alabama in the 1 vs. 4 semifinal for the College Football Playoff.
- Iowa is ranked ahead of Iowa State still, which is kind of surprising given that the Cyclones have been rolling as of late. It looks like the committee is weighing that Cy-Hawk victory pretty heavily at the moment.
- Undefeated UCF is still ranked #12, which is where they sat a week ago.
- Ranked teams, by conference: SEC - 7; Big Ten - 5; ACC - 4; Big 12 - 4; Pac-12 - 2; AAC - 1; Independent - 1; Mountain West - 1
What do you think of this week’s rank
