Fresh off their No. 20 ranking from a week ago, the Iowa Hawkeyes have climbed SIX SPOTS to No. 14 in the latest AP poll:
Iowa's No. 14 national ranking marks the highest that Iowa is nationally ranked in the AP Poll this early in the season since being ranked No. 7 on Nov. 26, 2001. #Hawkeyes

Iowa’s blowout win over Alabama State was enough reason to push the 5-0 Hawkeyes up six spots, I guess. Iowa is the third-highest ranked Big Ten team after Michigan (7) and Michigan State (9)
Other Big Ten teams with a ranking include Ohio State (16), Purdue (19), Wisconsin (22) and Maryland (24). Iowa also finds itself ranked in the NET, which I’m not going to try and explain.
Iowa has a big week on the hardwood; undefeated Pitt comes to town Tuesday, while the Hawkeyes face the Badgers at home Friday night in their conference opener.
