Christopher Reames, a defensive end prospect from Van Meter, has committed to play his college football for the Hawkeyes.

Listed as 6-7 and 215 lbs, Reames already has good size and the frame for Doyleization. The 2019 prospect is unrated by the normal recruiting services as of this moment, but I suppose he’ll earn a few stars in the coming days.
Reames had some decent schools looking at him as well. He has 13 other schools, including Army, Navy, North Dakota State, Northern Iowa and an Ivy Leaguer.
Reames has some impressive highlights as a tight end as well, but his real dominance comes when he’s in a three or four point stance and is able to simply overpower his opposition and crash the line at the snap.
The Des Moines Register has said there are similarities between Reames and current Iowa defensive end Anthony Nelson, which I’m going to call a good thing, if not overreaction. Both did play against small competition in Iowa and each did not receive an offer from Iowa until late in the recruiting cycle, which is a movie we’ve all seen before.
In any case, welcome aboard Chris Reames. We look forward to watching you eat quarterbacks in the near future. You may not be a five-star recruit, but you definitely have five-star hair.
