For the second week in a row, the Iowa football team is in the top-20 of the Associated Press college football rankings.

The bump up one spot to No. 18 is reflective of Iowa’s suffocating 23-0 win over Maryland, a game that honestly wasn’t even as close as the score indicates.
Next up, Iowa has a big game against No. 17 Penn State in Happy Valley. Kirk Ferentz hasn’t beaten James Franklin in two chances, but methinks this is about as vulnerable a Penn State as we’re gonna see.
For extra incentive, the Iowa-Penn State game will be on ESPN. Kickoff is at 2:30 PM God’s Time.
Around the Big Ten, Michigan jumped a spot to No. 5, Ohio State dropped nine spots to No. 11, Penn State moved up a spot and Wisconsin moved up three spots to No. 20. Purdue and Michigan State also received votes.
A road win against a ranked team is just what the doctor has prescribed for these Hawkeyes. Let’s go get that medicine.
