Purdue rode a 24-point run in the first half to slow bleed Iowa into its seventh conference loss, 87-64.
The game was 51-20 at half. And that’s really all you need to know. Purdue shot 11-15 from three at one point of the game. Some of that is luck, sure, but most of it is Iowa’s general distaste for defense.
It was the Carsen and Vincent Edwards show in the first frame. The pair combined for 31 points, shooting 7-10 from three. They outscored Iowa themselves; Isaac Haas didn’t even need to do much for Purdue to dominate. They ended the game a combined 41, 9-14 from range.
The second half was more of the same. Purdue tied the record for most-made threes by a Big Ten team with 20. It broke the record for most threes made in a conference game.
ESPN’s feed of the game even cut to an empty Cleveland Cavaliers arena with about 8 minutes in the game. Dan Dakich called Iowa players out for poor body language. Rock bottom has a basement.
