Iowa Football Recruiting: Class of 2018 Commitment Week 6 Performance Recap

Henry Geil

Pos: RB

Hometown: Green Bay, Wisconsin

Ht: 6’

Wt: 211 lbs

Running back commit Henry Geil picked up right where he left off last week on Friday night. He racked up 273 rushing yards and 4 touchdonws on 22 carries as Green Bay Preble took home a dominating 57-7 win over Sheboygan North.

The big night pushed Geil over 1,000 yards on the season. He’s no up to 1,068 yards and 14 touchdowns on 150 carries for ridiculous average of 7.1 YPC. With the win, Preble moved to 5-1 on the year. This Friday they take on Notre Dame Academy.

Jack Plumb

Pos: TE/OT

Hometown: Green Bay, Wisconsin

Ht: 6’8”

Wt: 245 lbs

The big OL/TE commit was held without a catch again this week, but saw his Bay Port team move to 6-0 on the year with a 35-21 win over Notre Dame Academy. They play host to Green Bay Southwest this Friday.

Tyrone Tracy

Pos: ATH

Hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana

Ht: 6’

Wt: 185 lbs

WR commit Tyrone Tracy continued his fantastic senior campaign with another impressive performance Friday. He finished with 80 rushing yards on 11 carries (7.3 YPC) and 88 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns on 5 catches (17.6 YPC) in Decatur Central's 63-28 win over Plainfield Friday. Here’s a look at the game highlights (Tracy is #11 in gold).

On the year, Tracy now has 700 rushing yards on 72 carries for an average of 10 yards per carry and 5 TDs on the ground. He also has 28 catches for 530 receiving yards (18.9 yards per reception) and 9 more touchdowns. Decatur Central moved to 5-1 with the win. The Hawks will be at Greenwood this Friday.

DJ Johnson

Pos: DB

Hometown: Indianapolis, IN

Ht: 6’

Wt: 170 lbs

Fellow Indianapolis native DJ Johnson had 4 tackles on Friday, but saw his North Central team lose to Carmel 10-9. The loss drops North Central to 3-3 on the year.

On the season, Johnson now has 23 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 3 pass break-ups. The Panthers will host Lawrence Central Friday as they try to get back on track.

Julius Brents

Pos: DB

Hometown: Indianapolis, IN

Ht: 6’2

Wt: 180 lbs

In just his second game back from a knee injury, Indianapolis S commit Julius Brents came away with an interception that he returned for 10 yards in Warren Central's 41-12 victory over Pike last Friday. Here are the game highlights. Brents’ interception comes around the 2:30 mark. He’s wearing #8 in pink.

Warren Central is now 3-3 on the season and will be at Lawrence North this Friday.

Anthony Torres

Pos: TE

Hometown: Mishawaka, Indiana

Ht: 6’6”

Wt: 235 lbs

TE commit Anthony Torres remained sidelined with an injury last week. His Mishawaka Penn team got a win over South Bend St. Joseph 30-14 last week to improve to 5-1 on the season. They will be at South Bend Clay this Friday.

Terry Roberts

Pos: DB

Hometown: Erie, PA

Ht: 5’10”

Wt: 169 lbs

Defensive back commit Terry Roberts made his presence felt on the offensive side of the ball last week, tallying 152 yards and 2 touchdowns on 3 catches for an insane 50.7 yard per reception average. Cathedral Prep took home a nice 69-7 win over General McLane. Here’s a look at the highlights from Roberts.

On the season, Roberts now has 391 receiving yards and 5 TDs on only 11 catches. He’s averaging 35.5 yards per reception. On the defensive side of the ball, Roberts now has 4 tackles and 2 interception, as well as a pass break-up. The win Friday moves Cathedral Prep to 5-0 on the year. They will play host to St. Francis this Friday.

Samson Evans

Hometown: Crystal Lake, IL

Ht: 6’1”

Wt: 190 lbs

Athlete Samson Evans, who is likely to end up at WR for the Hawkeyes, continued his quest to repeat as Illinois state champions with yet another impressive performance Friday. He only needed 4 carries to rack up 80 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He added a 38 yard punt return for a touchdown and then the coaching staff decided he could take the second half off. Prairie Ridge beat up on Bartlett 63-7.

Here’s a look at the highlights for Evans’ first 4 games, excluding the win last Friday. Also of note is OL Jeff Jenkins, who is also an Iowa commit. He’s #77 in the highlights below.

On the year, Evans now has 783 yards rushing and 13 TDs on 84 carries for an average of 9.3 yards per carry. The win moves Prairie Ridge to 5-0 on the season. They’ll be at McHenry this Friday.

Dillon Doyle

Pos: LB

Hometown: Iowa City, IA

Ht: 6’3”

Wt: 215 lbs

Local product Dillon Doyle put on a defensive show last week in a 48-28 win for Iowa City West over Cedar Rapids Prairie. Doyle finished with 7 tackles, including one for loss, and a fumble recovery. On the offensive side of the ball, he added 3 catches for 25 yards. Here’s a look at the highlights.

On the season, Doyle has 27 tackles and 3 TFL to go with 160 receiving yards and 2 TDs on 10 catches (16 YPC). West High moved to 5-0 with the win. They will be at Burlington Friday.
